durian at raub

i spent nearly half a daylast with a bunch of uncles and aunties. 12 of them to be exact, with their age counts roughly 2.5 times of mine. what did we do? we ate durians.

yesh, we travelled 2 hours away from the city, all the way across to another state where you have to wave your phone around to get a decent reception (that means one bar above the antenna to send out an sms) to eat durians fresh from the orchard.

so there were 6 couples and only one brought their child along. hell to the yeah, you are reading that child's recollection of that noteblogworthy day.

actually there is nothing much to write about. the orchard was smacked right in the middle of  nowhere, which was kinda nice as a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city (read: no less stressful singapore city) life, because everywhere you turn you see greens. not the moolahs' green. i meant real hug-a-tree kinda green. except i would've appreciated it more if the sun wasn' that hardworking that afternoon.

the people there were generous. they kept serving durians to us, and i don't think they charged us for any of it. by the way, they did not serve with trays. they used butcher knife, splitted the durians open on the spot, then shoved the whole thing (shell inclusive) to you and went 'nah try this [insert durian variant names here] '. i know i ate one too many because i couldn't take anything in for lunch after that.

oh well, more durians to come because my dad bought 16 of them. we distributed some but most are already in our sotmach now :3
