i gave up a performing solo this afternoon by calling in sick. all that stress is unecessary, really. it's not that i'm lazy to practise or anything. i can play the whole piece from memory and have been doing that for at least a year or so. it is one of my most played pieces in fact.

it's a different matter when i'm up on the stage. my mind went blank and it was as if i'm playing a new song. and that was only the rehearsal.

oh well, i've already accepted the fact that i'm not performance-inclined, musically especially. a couple of years ago, getting me to play a song for you could get as impossible as, say for example, getting my brother to put on make-up a dress. all i could say is things are much better now. and much more enjoyable :)
