socialise
mom: eh do you mix around with the guys?
me : yes i do. neh, i go to dinner and watch basketball matches with this guy who lives near me. (which is true ok)
mom : ( completely ignoring what i just said) go socialise a bit la. don't just mix around with the girls
me : oh kays oh kays.
we had this while skyping.
my dad just sat there smiling, looking down at the floor as if in deep thought and said nothing. i've just made a mental note to rope him into this kinda conversion next time. would love to know what he thinks.
i would've gotten all defensive whenever my mom strikes up topics like this a few years ago. but now i couldn't help but laugh at it, i know what's going through her mind.
i find it cute when she mentions it, in fact. as if we're in this tvb drama, doing a scene between the mother and the very-much-single daughter.

you mean she said those things only while you're back at KL??
