せんせい . sensei

my days have been pretty average lately. wake up. check mails. do some readings. go to classes. finish tutorials. watch one or two episodes of those taiwan variety shows and i'm off to bed.

during the start of this semester, i texted takayama sensei, my level 1 japanese tutor, on how i obtained a rather good result for the japanese paper and asked if she's teaching japanese level 2. sadly, she replied no, plus some other small talk which i've forgotten.

i could still remember the circumstances when we first met that had led to this peculiar relationship. peculiar because i never text any of my tutors and report on how i did for their papers, mind you.

that morning, i was the first to arrive at the tutorial room, only 15 minutes too early. she came in a few minutes later, looking quite lost, and asked me where is the nearest vending machine. it's a long story but to cut things short, we didn't manage to locate one. what we did do is talk and talk. i had a hard time understanding her english with the japanese accent but it didn't matter.

what mattered was since that incident, she remebered my name so much so that she kept calling me to answer her questions during tutorials. i really do appreciate that.

a few days ago, i receive a message from her, telling me that the level 2 japanese tutors are all very dedicated. i suppose she hopes to see me continue the language study and i still feel a lil bad bout that. i'm not taking japanese level 2 for this semester by the way.

also, she says that she is currently having a student of the same first name as me and hopes that the student is as hardworking as me.

it feels good to have left a good impression :)
